Building leaders who fundraise to transform communities locally and across the world
AFP Advancement Northwest supports and furthers the careers of fundraising professionals. With more than 350 members, Advancement Northwest combines the unique strengths of our two founding organizations: AFP Washington and the Northwest Development Officers Association, which united in 2015. Together as one powerful voice for philanthropy, Advancement Northwest is opening doors to even more innovative opportunities to advance the skills of development professionals and the prestige of the profession.
Our Vision: For our communities to be models of philanthropic impact
Our Mission: Building leaders who fundraise to transform communities locally and across the world
Our Goals:
- To elevate the professionalism of fundraisers at all stages of their careers
- To promote high ethical standards and build trust among donors
- To preserve and enhance philanthropy and volunteerism
- To serve as one powerful voice in confronting the pressing challenges facing the nonprofit sector today
Upholding the highest standards of ethical fundraising
Trust makes philanthropy possible. AFP Advancement Northwest builds this trust with an iron-clad commitment to ethical fundraising, set forth in the AFP Code of Ethical Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights, which AFP developed in partnership with other organizations.
Every year, AFP’s 30,000 members in more than 200 chapters worldwide sign our Code of Ethics, which holds fundraisers to the profession’s highest standards and a commitment to put the philanthropic mission above personal gains.
Advancement Northwest members do not work just for their organizations. Every day, they represent what we call the philanthropic trust economy.
