Harshika Kara, Capacity Building Lead, RVC, Seattle

Harshika Kara is a nonprofit professional who has dedicated her career to helping organizations develop and execute capacity building strategies that strengthen them for immediate and long-term sustainability. Her passion for helping nonprofits is driven by her commitment to social justice and the belief that all communities need to be given equitable, and inclusive opportunities for advancement. Prior to her role as Capacity Building Lead with RVC Seattle, Harshika worked with a range of organizations from large educational institutions to new and emerging nonprofits helping them with resource mobilization and organizational development.

Before calling Seattle home she lived in New Zealand and Fiji. Harshika holds a BA and MA in Sociology/Social Work from Canterbury University, Christchurch, NZ. She’s a mother of two children who are currently in college. Outside of work, Harshika sits on the Board of TINFA and is a community volunteer for several organizations including Sophia’s Way and LWSD. She loves making jewelry, working in her garden, and hiking around PNW with friends.
