We are so excited that National Philanthropy Day is back in person this year, and I hope that you can join us on November 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wing Luke Museum!

When I started working in philanthropy, I spent much time wondering if I had a place in the field. Right when I started to find my place the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and I wondered if the nonprofit and fundraising community would look the same ever again.

But through conversations with other philanthropists and members of the Advancement NW community, I learned that many others were asking the same questions. More than anything else, I heard the overwhelming theme – do we want to go back to how things have been, or work towards a better future for us and the communities that we serve?

This year, National Philanthropy Day is a celebration of those who work in this field and make the nonprofit and philanthropy successes that we see possible…Every. Single. Day. While National Philanthropy Day has celebrated the funders who have make contributions to this work in years past, this year we want to celebrate you and all that you have done to make our field the incredible field that it is.

I hope you can join us for snacks, to hear from a panel of amazing leaders in our field, and to contribute to the conversation about where OUR field goes from here. We all have the ability to shape this field to be more inclusive, representative, and hopeful.

Please join us by registering today! I look forward to seeing you there!
