Spring is in the air, the days are getting longer, and that means we are getting excited about the 2022 Annual Conference on June 9 & 10!
Though the conference will be online again this year, we are kicking things off with an in-person networking reception on Wednesday night – that’s right, I said in-person. I can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces again.
To kick off day one, I will be interviewing change-maker and keynote speaker C’Ardiss Gardner Gleser about the fundraiser’s role in shifting the power dynamics of philanthropy. Friday’s keynote speaker, Dr. Lucy Bernholz, recent winner of the Prose Award for scholarly works in economics, will inspire us to reimagine the boundaries of giving with her talk on How We Give Now. I encourage you to read her book by the same title as your pre-conference reading.
I want to thank all who provided the excellent submissions to our request for session proposals on the Future of Fundraising. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to include all of them in this year’s program, but I am excited about those chosen. Our sessions will include guidance on hiring and retaining skilled and diverse nonprofit talent, insights into changing expectations around donor recognition, new equity-minded fundraising models, updates on changes in the grant review process, and much more. Again, thank you to everyone who took the time to submit–we appreciate your willingness to give back to your community.
And most importantly…conference bingo will be returning this year with a few other surprises! I hope that you make time to invest in yourself and your career by attending the 2022 Annual Conference.
